Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency is the foundation of everything we publish. This page explains how we earn revenue, how that may influence our content, and exactly what you can expect from us.

Amazon Associates Disclosure

FPV Racing Drones (fpv-racing-drones.com) is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

This means that when you click an Amazon link on our site and purchase a product — or any product during that same Amazon session — we may receive a small commission. This commission comes at absolutely no additional cost to you. You pay the same price you would pay visiting Amazon directly.

What This Means for You

  • Clicking our Amazon links does not change the price you pay. You pay the exact same price as any other Amazon customer.
  • Commissions are earned when you complete a qualifying purchase after clicking our link — typically within a 24-hour cookie window.
  • Our commission rate varies by product category. Most electronics and drone hardware earn in the 1%–4% range.
  • Revenue earned through Amazon Associates funds the ongoing creation of free guides, reviews, and tutorials on this site.
  • We do not accept payments from Amazon or any manufacturer to rank products higher than they deserve. Commissions do not influence our editorial verdicts.

For full details on the Amazon Associates Program, see the official Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement.

FTC Endorsement Compliance

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that any website earning compensation — including affiliate commissions, sponsored content fees, or free products — clearly and conspicuously discloses that material connection to its readers. This requirement is governed by 16 CFR Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, revised June 2023.

What the FTC Requires of Us

  • Clear disclosure — any financial relationship between us and a product, brand, or program must be disclosed in plain language readers can easily understand.
  • Conspicuous placement — disclosures must appear before any affiliate link or recommendation, not buried in footnotes or after the content.
  • Honest opinions — any endorsement must reflect our genuine, honest assessment of the product. We cannot endorse products we believe are inferior simply because we earn a commission.
  • Free products disclosure — if we receive a product for free or at a discount in exchange for a review, we will disclose this clearly within the article.

How We Are Compensated

Compensation received by this site may include, but is not limited to:

  • Affiliate commissions earned when visitors click our links and make qualifying purchases (Amazon Associates and other programs).
  • Display advertising revenue from Google AdSense and other ad networks based on page views and clicks.
  • Products provided at no cost for review purposes, clearly noted within any such review article.

Reference: FTC Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255 (2023). Fine for non-compliance: up to $53,088 per violation (as of 2025).

Google AdSense Disclosure

FPV Racing Drones uses Google AdSense to display advertisements on some pages of this website. Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC.

Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this website and other websites across the internet. This is known as interest-based advertising or remarketing.

What Google AdSense Does

  • Displays advertisements selected by Google based on page content and, optionally, your browsing history and interests.
  • Uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads and measure performance. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings or via the NAI opt-out tool.
  • We earn revenue when visitors view or click these advertisements. Ad revenue is used to fund the free content on this website.
  • We do not control which specific advertisements Google serves. Advertisers are selected by Google, not by us.
  • Ads displayed are not endorsements of the advertised products by FPV Racing Drones.

To learn more about how Google uses data, see: How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps. Our cookie use is also covered in our Privacy Policy.

04

Other Affiliate Programs

In addition to Amazon Associates, this site participates in — or may in the future participate in — affiliate programs operated by other companies. When we link to a product on a third-party site and earn a commission from a resulting purchase, that link will either be clearly labeled or covered by the sitewide disclosure at the top of each article.

Current Affiliate Relationships

  • Amazon Associates — Amazon.com affiliate program. Covered in detail in Section 01 of this page.
  • GetFPV — Specialty FPV retailer affiliate program. Commissions earned on purchases made via our GetFPV links.
  • RaceDayQuads — FPV parts retailer affiliate program.
  • Rotor Riot — FPV lifestyle and gear retailer affiliate program.
Example — what an in-post disclosure for a non-Amazon affiliate looks like

“Some links in this article are affiliate links to GetFPV. If you purchase through these links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us continue publishing free FPV guides.”

If you have a specific question about whether a particular link on this site is an affiliate link, please contact us and we will confirm.

05

In-Post Disclosure Policy

The FTC’s 2023 Endorsement Guides require that affiliate disclosures be “clear and conspicuous” — meaning they must be placed where readers are likely to notice them, before they interact with any affiliate link, and written in plain language. The following describes exactly how disclosures appear across this website.

Where Disclosures Appear

  • At the top of every article containing affiliate links — a disclosure block appears within the first visible screen of content, before any affiliate link.
  • In the site footer — a condensed disclosure is permanently displayed in the site footer on every page.
  • Near individual affiliate links — product cards and buy buttons include the label “(affiliate link)” or similar notation adjacent to the link.
  • On this dedicated Disclosure page — permanently accessible from the site footer and any article’s disclosure notice.

Standard In-Post Disclosure Text

Every article on this site that contains affiliate links includes one of the following disclosures at the top:

Standard Article Disclosure (used in most buying guides)

“This post contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Read our full affiliate disclosure policy.”

Extended Disclosure (used when article links to non-Amazon affiliates)

“This article contains affiliate links to Amazon.com and other FPV retailers including GetFPV and RaceDayQuads. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions help fund the free guides on FPV Racing Drones — at no cost to you.”

Free Product Disclosure (used when product was provided at no cost for review)

“Disclosure: This unit was provided free of charge by [Manufacturer] for review purposes. This did not influence our verdict. We maintain full editorial independence regardless of how a product was obtained.”

What We Will Never Do

  • Place affiliate disclosures only at the bottom of a page, after readers have already engaged with affiliate links.
  • Use font sizes smaller than surrounding body text for disclosure language.
  • Use colors that cause the disclosure to blend into the background.
  • Bury disclosure language inside a “Read More” toggle or collapsed section.
  • Use vague language like “may earn” as a substitute for a clear disclosure when commission is in fact certain.
06

Pricing & Availability Disclaimer

Drone and FPV equipment prices fluctuate frequently due to sales, stock changes, and manufacturer updates. We make every effort to keep pricing in our articles current, but we cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.

Amazon Product Advertising API

Where this site uses the Amazon Product Advertising API (via plugins such as AAWP or Lasso) to display real-time product pricing, that information is sourced directly from Amazon and updated regularly. However, a delay of up to 24 hours may exist between a price change on Amazon and its reflection on this site.

Product Availability

Products we recommend may become discontinued, out of stock, or unavailable on Amazon at any time. If a product you are looking for is no longer available, we recommend checking our most recent buying guide update or contacting us for an alternative recommendation.

  • All prices quoted include a “prices accurate as of [date]” note at the point of reference within the article.
  • We audit and update our buying guides on a rolling schedule — at minimum annually, more frequently for high-traffic articles.
  • A “Last Updated” date is displayed at the top of every buying guide.
07

Editorial Independence Statement

The content published on FPV Racing Drones is created and edited independently of our commercial relationships. Our affiliate partnerships and advertising revenue do not determine which products we recommend, how we rank them, or what verdict we reach in our reviews.

Our Editorial Principles

  • We recommend what we would buy ourselves. If we would not purchase a product at its current price with our own money, we will not recommend it without clear qualification.
  • Commission rate does not influence ranking. We do not rank products higher because they earn a higher commission. Products are ranked by performance, value, and suitability for our readers.
  • Negative findings are included. If a product has significant drawbacks, we report them clearly — even if that product would earn us a higher commission than its alternatives.
  • Sponsored content is clearly labeled. Any article that is paid for, sponsored, or produced in partnership with a brand will be labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the page.
  • We disclose free products. If a manufacturer sends us a product for review, we disclose this in the article and note that the free unit did not influence our assessment.

Concerns About Our Editorial Standards?

If you believe any content on this site is misleading, non-compliant with FTC guidelines, or represents an undisclosed conflict of interest, please contact us directly or email [email protected]. We take editorial integrity seriously and will respond to all concerns promptly.
