We Fly It Before
We Recommend It.
FPV Racing Drones started as a small side project in 2022 — two pilots writing down what they wished someone had told them before their first builds. Today it’s grown into a resource hub for FPV pilots across the United States, covering everything from beginner drones to race-ready setups.
Two Pilots. One Goal: Honest FPV Advice.
FPV Racing Drones is run by a small, independent team of pilots who got tired of spec-sheet reviews written by people who’d never actually flown the products they were recommending. We test, build, crash, rebuild, and write down what we learn — so you don’t have to find out the hard way.
Real Flight Time
Every drone we review gets actual stick time — not just an unboxing and a spec comparison.
We Build, Not Just Buy
Our build guides come from quads we’ve actually assembled, soldered, and tuned ourselves.
No Pay-for-Placement
Brands can’t buy a better ranking. Our verdicts are based on performance, not commission rates.
Updated, Not Abandoned
FPV gear changes fast. We revisit and update our guides as new gear ships and old gear gets discontinued.

How We Got Here
From a shared notes doc between two pilots to a growing FPV resource hub.
2022 — The Notes Doc
It started as a shared document between two FPV pilots — Sarah and P.D. — comparing notes on gear, builds, and what they wished beginner guides actually explained. No website, no plan. Just notes.
2023 — First Reviews
Friends started asking which drones to buy. The notes turned into informal write-ups, shared in FPV community groups and forums — the earliest versions of what would become our buying guides.
2024 — Building the Library
We committed to writing things down properly — testing more drones, documenting more builds, and organizing everything into a structure that could actually help other pilots find answers fast.
2025 — FPV Racing Drones Launches
fpv-racing-drones.com went live as a dedicated home for our guides, reviews, and tutorials — built for US pilots looking for straight answers about gear, builds, and getting started in FPV.
What We Stand For
The principles that guide every guide, review, and recommendation we publish.
Accuracy First
We’d rather say “we’re not sure yet” than publish a confident guess. Every spec is checked before it’s published.
Pilot-to-Pilot
We write like we’re talking to a friend who just got into FPV — not like we’re trying to sound impressive.
Full Transparency
Every affiliate link, every sponsored mention, every free product — disclosed clearly. No exceptions.
Beginner-Friendly
FPV has a steep learning curve. We try to remove jargon and explain the “why,” not just the “what.”
Always Improving
Gear changes fast. We revisit old guides, fix mistakes, and update recommendations as the market shifts.
Community Minded
FPV is a hobby built on shared knowledge. We try to give back to the community that taught us everything.
Our Editorial Process
Every guide goes through the same 4 steps before it’s published — no shortcuts.
Research
We start by identifying what pilots are actually searching for and asking — based on community forums, search trends, and our own questions when we were starting out.
Test & Fly
Where possible, we get hands-on with the gear — flight time, range tests, build difficulty, and real-world durability, not just spec sheets.
Write & Review
Drafts are written by one team member and reviewed by the other for accuracy, clarity, and to catch anything we might have gotten wrong.
Publish & Update
Once live, we track whether information stays accurate. Price changes, discontinued products, and new releases all trigger a guide update.
Hey — thanks for reading this far. Honestly, neither of us set out to build a “website.” This started in 2022 as a shared doc where we’d dump notes after every build, every crash, and every late-night rabbit hole trying to figure out why a motor kept burning out.
Over time, friends started asking us what to buy. Then friends-of-friends. At some point it made more sense to just write it all down properly and put it somewhere people could find it — which is how FPV Racing Drones came to be in 2025.
We’re not the biggest FPV site out there, and we’re not trying to be everything to everyone. We’re just two pilots trying to write the guides we wish we’d had when we started. If something on this site helped you avoid a bad purchase or finally get your quad in the air — that’s the whole point.
If you spot something wrong, outdated, or just have a question — reach out. We read everything.
