Sarah N. Welsh
“If I wouldn’t buy it with my own money, I won’t recommend it.”
Sarah is the lead reviewer and primary author at FPV Racing Drones. With 5+ years of competitive FPV flying, 30+ drones reviewed hands-on, and a FAA Part 107 certificate, she brings genuine first-person experience to every buying guide and product verdict on this site.
From Crashed Beginner to MultiGP Pilot
Sarah got into FPV drones the same way most pilots do: she crashed her first quad into a tree within three minutes of its maiden flight, cursed at it, and immediately ordered a better one. That was in 2019. Five years, 30+ builds, and several MultiGP race seasons later, she now writes the buying guides she wished existed when she was starting out.
As the lead reviewer at FPV Racing Drones, Sarah handles all buying guide content — from sub-$50 beginner quads to high-end race-ready 5-inch builds. Her approach is simple: if a drone isn’t good enough to recommend to a friend, it doesn’t get a favorable review here, regardless of what it earns in affiliate commissions.
She holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and competes in MultiGP regional events when she isn’t writing. Her reviews focus on what actually matters to pilots: real flight feel, video quality from the cockpit, build durability after the inevitable crashes, and honest value-for-money at every price point.
Based in the United States, Sarah flies at local MultiGP chapters and open fields, and test-flies new gear on her own time before anything gets published on this site. When she’s not flying or writing, she’s probably deep in a Betaflight config arguing about filter settings.

Editorial Approach
Every product Sarah reviews is either purchased by the team, borrowed from the community, or received for review with full disclosure. Commission rates play no role in product rankings — she’s finished more than a few reviews recommending a product that earns us less, because it was simply the better drone.
All buying guide prices are verified at time of publication and updated regularly. For full transparency on how we earn and how it affects content, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

Next: P.D. Cason — Technical Editor & Build Specialist
P.D. Cason
“If the soldering looks wrong, the guide doesn’t go live.”
P.D. is the technical editor and build specialist at FPV Racing Drones. An electronics engineer with 8+ years of FPV experience, he handles every guide involving Betaflight tuning, ESC configuration, motor specs, and build walkthroughs — and fact-checks Sarah’s buying guides for technical accuracy.
The Engineer Who Builds First, Writes Second
P.D. came to FPV through a background in electronics engineering. Where most hobbyists start with a ready-to-fly quad, P.D. started with a soldering iron, a pile of components, and a YouTube tutorial from 2016 that turned out to be completely wrong. He’s been correcting bad FPV tutorials ever since.
At FPV Racing Drones, P.D. is responsible for all technical content — build guides, Betaflight tuning tutorials, flight controller comparisons, ESC specs, and motor selection guides. He also acts as the technical fact-checker for Sarah’s buying guides, making sure the spec data is accurate and the product comparisons are fair.
With 8+ years of FPV experience and 50+ original builds under his belt — ranging from 1.6-inch micro whoop builds to 7-inch long-range quads — P.D. writes build guides the way he wishes they had been written when he was learning: with exact component part numbers, wiring diagrams that actually make sense, and step-by-step Betaflight screenshots.
He also handles the technical infrastructure of running the site — making sure guides are updated as flight controllers and ESC firmware get new releases, and flagging discontinued parts before they confuse readers trying to replicate a build.

How P.D. Reviews Technical Content
Every build guide P.D. publishes has been executed on real hardware before the first word is written. Wiring diagrams are drawn from actual builds, not spec sheets. Betaflight screenshots come from real configurations on physical quads, not emulators.
Found an error in a build guide? P.D. takes corrections personally (in the best way). Use the contact form to flag technical mistakes and they’ll be fixed — and you’ll get credited if you want.
